At the end of 2025, we completed a three-storey modular psychiatry pavilion for Ostrov Hospital, with a usable floor area of 3,000 m² — our third full-scale hospital pavilion to date. The building, assembled from 161 modules from our M-L product line, was delivered in just 12 months, all while the hospital remained in full operation with no disruption to patient care.
Before serial production began, we assembled a prototype room directly on the production line and reviewed it in detail with the client — only then did we proceed with manufacturing the remaining modules. This approach ensured that the finished environment precisely matched both operational requirements and patient needs.
The pavilion expanded the capacity of the only inpatient psychiatric ward in the Karlovy Vary Region from 73 to 96 beds. In addition to patient rooms, it offers modern examination rooms, nursing stations, and specialized medical facilities. The hospital — which admits more than three thousand inpatients annually and sees over 40,000 outpatient visits — had been facing sustained and growing pressure on its capacity. Modular construction allowed it to address that challenge quickly, efficiently, and without interrupting operations.
Designed by petit atelier, the project demonstrates that even for a care setting as specific as psychiatry, modular construction can deliver an environment that meets both human and professional needs.
