WE Hotel EXPO Prague – The Largest Modular Hotel in the Czech Republic
Four storeys, 160 modules and 105 hotel rooms. WE Hotel EXPO Prague, located in Prague’s Letňany district, is the largest modular hotel in the Czech Republic and demonstrates the potential of modular construction for large-scale, multi-storey buildings. The modern four-star hotel was built in the immediate vicinity of the PVA EXPO PRAGUE exhibition centre, providing accommodation for visitors attending trade fairs, conferences and other events.

WE Hotel EXPO Prague is part of a larger development in Prague’s Letňany district, for which we manufactured a total of 280 modules. In addition to the hotel itself, the modules were used to construct an adjacent four-storey office building. Together, the two buildings provide new accommodation and administrative facilities for the PVA EXPO PRAGUE exhibition centre.
The hotel itself consists of 160 modules and offers 105 modern rooms, most of them double rooms. During the project preparation phase, we first manufactured a prototype of a typical hotel room, allowing us to fine-tune the individual structural, technical and design details together with the investor and architects. Only then did series production of the remaining modules begin. This approach made it possible to carry out a substantial part of the work in the controlled environment of our production facility while minimising the need for additional modifications directly on site.
The hotel has four above-ground storeys, making efficient use of the available site area. The on-site assembly progressed at a rate of one complete storey per week. A significant part of the building was therefore completed at the production facility, with the finished modules subsequently transported to the site, installed and connected to form the final structure.
An interesting structural solution was also employed for the hotel restaurant. While the hotel rooms naturally follow the dimensional grid of individual modules, the restaurant required an open-plan space with as few structural obstructions as possible. Large-span modules were therefore used in this area, making it possible to create a spacious and flexible interior suited to the restaurant’s operational requirements.
WE Hotel EXPO Prague combines series-produced hotel rooms, large-span modular solutions for communal areas and the rapid assembly of a multi-storey building within a single project. The result is a fully fledged four-star hotel that clearly demonstrates the scale and ambition that modular construction can achieve today.
